Quite steep but concrete all the way. Amazing 360° views of the Glass House Mountains to the west and Bribie Island and the coastal strip to the east. Lots of information on what you are looking at and a great place for a picnic.

Getting there:

A distinctive landmark (fire watch tower) on the eastern side of the Bruce Highway. From the south, take the exit next to the Service Station and turn right to cross over the Bruce Highway before turning right again and following the sign to the car park.

Well signposted from the north.

Wild Horse Mountain

Route/Trail notes:

700mt and quite steep. The quickest we have done this is in 7mins 56sec up and 4mins 23sec down. Concrete the whole way. If you are looking for something else, from the bottom of the car park, turn right and head along the forest trail for a couple of minutes and you can follow a bush track up the side of the mountain. This track only takes you halfway up though.

One of the 7 Peaks for Daniel :)

Not so much a hike but more an incline walk up a concrete road to the top. Well worth it for the different view back towards the Glasshouse Mountains. The roundhouse at the top has some interpretive signage which is helpful.

This is a family friendly walk with it being reasonably short and paved all the way the views from the top of all the mountains and forests are spectacular. We ended our multiple mountain day with this little gem to top it off.

Great view of all the glasshouse mountains - particularly on a clear day!

A simple walk up the service road to the look out. Watch out for the pot holes in the road once you turn into the area over the bridge!

Kieran Wiggins on Sep, 2020

Simple straight paved path up. Big open lookout building at the top has 360 degree views, and information about what you can see in each direction - look up at the eaves. Amazing sunset behind the other mountains.
