Possibly the most popular and most instagrammed National Park attraction, the Figure 8 pool is a natural rock formation in the Royal National Park. It can be reached via a couple of tracks: this route describes the shortest way to the pool.
Start (and end) Garrawarra Farm car park in Royal National Park
Royal National Park Tourist Map 1:35,000
Follow the well sign-posted track from Garrawarra Farm cark park down the Burgh Ridge towards the coast. Once Burning Palm Beach is reached, walk south along the back to the end. Here a rough track leads to the rock platform at the base of the cliffs. Follow the coast until the Figure 8 Pool is reached.
NOTE: This walk MUST be done within an hour of low tide and in good conditions. Figure 8 Pool is underwater at high tide, and dangerous if there is a large swell. There have been injuries and deaths caused by people being swept off the rocks.
National Park entry fee / annual pass.
