Escape the crowds and take a meandering journey through acacia woodlands and grassed clay pans. Discover the diverse plants, animals and geological features of the park. From Kuniya Piti you can follow the snake-like grooves along the base of the rock where Kuniya journeyed to Mutitjulu Waterhole. Encounter bloodwoods, native grasses and waterways. The Base Walk is the best way to fully appreciate the natural and cultural beauty of Uluru.

Went for a late arvo walk due to hot day. Was rewarded with a rain and lightning show just after sunset. It got really busy on the road. The waterfalls could be heard in the darkness.

i would hardly say its medium just long , do it early like any other walk take water as usual not much to see rock to the left or right depending on which way ya start lol sparse trees to the other . on the northen side you don't get that close to the rock for local reasons :( not sure what we would see or not alowed to see in my oppinion not worth the long walk you can drive around and see just as much and pull in in a few lookouts along the way . we did it cause the climb was closed due to winds :( when we got near the end we saw the climb open so it was worth it instead of sitting in the car and waiting . other wise i recommend the Olga's but the pick is kings canyon just north :)

Awesome walk! Very special place and so many different things to see and learn about along the way. Go early before the flies come out.

Amazing experience, except for the flies! We went in June and even in the colder months, the flies are shocking! But it didn't take away from the stunning environment and scenic plains.

You climb the rock and then want to walk around it on the same day, are you crazy? Well, we cheated a bit and cycled most of it, whilst stopping to explore Mutitjulu Waterhole and Kantju Gorge etc.

Great fun with our two kids, we rode the trail rather than walked it. Would be a long slog with kids. Easy enough in cool weather but would be hard in summer with the distance.

Beautiful walk, though I world consider the Segways to be a greater disrespect than doing the summit walk. With Anna

A simply stunning walk.

This was one of the bucket list walks. We started very early in morning and managed to catch the sunrise over Uluru. Absolutely stunning. We then walked leisurely clockwise around the base and did all the side tours on the way. We spent nearly all day in this magical place and were reluctant to leave to return to Yulara.

Wow

Completed this prior to doing the Uluru Climb. Allow time to explore the caves and side-tracks.
