This walk lies outside the paid memorial and instead focuses on widerstandsnest 62, the monument of the 1st U.S. infantry division and the beach itself with the combat medics memorial.

A detailed description of the walk!
From Rue de la 1e Division make your way up to widerstandsnest 62 and explore before heading further up the hill to the monument of the 1st U.S. infantry division (here you may chose to divert to the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial). Return back to widerstandsnest 62 and follow the path that leads further West before dropping down to the beach. Then return to the start via the beach to see the combat medics memorial.
