Getting there

Getting to this hike is the most difficult part of the journey mostly due to how unreliable Italian public transport is. Type Bomerano into Google maps and follow the directions to get to the trailhead by bus. There are a few buses and routes depending on where you are staying along the Amalfi Coast.

Because my bus was delayed by 30 minutes, I missed the bus, meaning I had to wait approximately 1.5 hours for the next bus. Plan around delays and try to be at the bus stop before the designated time as buses are infrequent and basically non-existent. You could drive, but the hike is not a loop so you would have to take a bus back to the trail head anyway to retrieve your car.

Route/Trail notes

There is essentially no English on the hiking trail. Keep a look out for signs pointing out to Sentiero degli Dei. Without remembering this name, you will probably get lost somewhere along the trail.

Immediately from the trail head, the views open up to the beautiful Amalfi Coast. Dramatic cliff faces and terraced vineyards. Walk along the cliff straight. The path is obvious. As you walk the views only get better. Towards the end of the hike, you will need to start looking out for signss that say, "Positano."

Positano is the end destination. It is a cute town at the end of the hike that is worth checking out. Be warned that the last part of the hike has a stupid amount of stairs. I think I spent about 20 minutes climbing down stairs. And once you are in Poistano, it is non-step stair hell.

From Positano, there should be public transport that can take you back to Sorrento or whereever you are staying. Just be warned that buses are usually late and bus stops aren't always easy to find.
