The Jogasaki coast is one of the famous coastal regions of the Izu Peninsula and part of the Fuji-Izu-Hakone National Park. It has dramatic cliff faces and interesting rock formations.
You can get to this hike via public transpot, but it may be a bit of a pain. I didn't personally take public transport to get here, I found this information on the web if you wanted to do though
From Izu Kogen Station, take a bus bound for Kaiyo Koen (海洋公園) and get off at Izu Kaiyo Koen (伊豆海洋公園, 10 minutes, 250 yen one way, 1 bus/hour). Alternatively, the Jogasaki coast can be reached in about a 20-30 minute walk from Jogasaki Kaigan Station.
If you are driving, just simply type in Jogasaki into Google maps and it will take you to the carpark where you can start the hike. Just note that it is paid parking and depends on how long you are parked for.
Good ol' Google maps
Just follow the paths, there is only one path and can be taken in either direction from the main Jogasaki area where the lighthouse and bridge are. The paths take you through interesting coastal scrub and forest that you don't see very often in Japan. There are lookouts along the way that give you peaks to the dramatic cliff faces. It is pretty hard to get lost. Just enjoy yourself innit.
