There are many ways of getting to this hike. Driving is possible, just plug jigokudani into your Google Maps and head to the carpark. If coming via train, it is more than possible to walk from Noboribetsu Station by following Google Maps. There is also a bus which I don't know much about.
Yoooo Google
When I completed this hike in winter 2019, the snow was piled up too much and most of the hike was closed off. You could only access the defrosted volcanic section which is arguably the most stunning part.
From the trailhead, walk along the board walk to the end then turn back and you can head into the forest which takes you on a loop back to the trailhead. There are some ashi yu (hot springs for your feet). It would be a miracle if you got lost. Only one path and the hike is very popular due to the fact it is flat and very easy.
