Login/signup to tick this walk off.A two day walk up the hightest mountain in South East Asia 4095m. Kinabalu is just outside the capital of Sabah on the island of Borneo...with unbelievable views of the surrounding country if the clouds clear. The walk/climb,stops near the summit where you stay over night with the final part of the walk done in the dark so you can watch the sun rise. Some people experience altitude sickness
Bus or drive to the entrance of the park. Guides are required and porters can be organised to carry your gear
The walk is quite demanding and more so as you reach the higher altitude. You climb 9km at roughly 45degs for the first day with an over night stop near the summit in dorm type accommodation, which allows for the final assent at dawn. It's very cold on the summit so take lots of warm cloths but the views are unbelievable.
Can't remember how much it costs now but it's not expensive. You must hire a guide and he can be shared amongst a group or one on one.

Navigation to some bushwalks can be difficult. Automated navigation using Google Maps or Apple Maps may not be accurate. Additionally, Aussie Bushwalking doesn't always have accurate positions for where to park for a walk.
Please read the walk description for special directions and take extra care.
