A detailed description of the walk!
From Bartons Mill follow the River Loddon upstream under the Railway Viaduct before turning left and following the small path that pops out onto Bexmoor which you shall follow up to St. Mary's Church. Then take the path heading roughly south until you cross Crown Lane and enter Basingstoke Common. You will follow the path up hill along the Basing House grounds boundary where you may get a peak at the ruins of Basing House and the old castle earthworks before taking the path downhill also along the Basing House grounds boundary to Redbridge Lane which you will turn right onto and follow until Basing Road where you shall turn left onto before turning almost immediately right to the football that traces the River Loddon back to your starting point.
