This is an easy walk and one of three easy walks that make up this parks attractions. The tracks can be hard to find at times but the grading is easy although very stony, the wave rock feature is the highlight of this walk and provided great views of the surrounding park.

From Old Idalia, walk past the old ship’s tank to reach the cliff overhang shaped like a wave. Wind, sun and time are nature’s carving tool here; sunset is the paintbrush. Panoramic views from the top of the cliff give an idea of the size of the park and its diverse vegetation.
Getting there
Idalia National Park is 113 km south-west of Blackall, Take the Isisford Road from Blackall for 42 km then turn left into the Yaraka Road. At the Benlidi siding, turn left and follow the ldalia-Benlidi Road for about 34 km to the park boundary. This is mostly unsealed.
Route/Trail notes
Walk past the old ship's tank to reach the cliff overhang shaped like a wave. Wind over time has carved this feature. beautiful views from the top of the cliff give an idea of the size of the park and its vegetation, This walk is easy and one of four that everyone should do after driving this far.
Permits/Costs
Usual QLD nat park camping costs are required. There are drop toilets but little else.
