A short walk up Mount Etna to the Bat Cleft. During November to February, the walk is only accessible by tour with a park ranger where you can see 110,000 bats emerge from the bat cleft.
Drive about 30m north of Rockhampton to The Caves Township. Turn right onto Barmoya road and then take the second left Camoo Caves road. If doing the tour, the park ranger will guide you to the starting point.

The bat cleft walk is part of the Mount Etna Caves National Park. The hike is easy with steps all the way to the top. It is not strenuous. Enjoy sweeping views from the lookout platforms and from the cleft. There is a lot of wildlife to be seen, green tree frogs and snakes are commonly seen.
