The archways walk is spectacular, with narrow passage connecting larger caverns. You'll want to take the most photos at the Art Site and the end of the Archways walk.
NOTE: There are bats in the archways. There is one small hole you are required to crawl through however there is daylight on both sides.
Located 15km out of Chillagoe along Burke Development Road which is an approximate 3 hour drive from Cairns.

There are two places to park if you don't feel like battling the heat between both destinations. The first is an Aboriginal Art site which is magnificent. There are heaps of holes and small caves that people obviously go caving in here however unauthorised caving is not permitted in chillagoe.
The walk continues (or you just continue driving down the dirt road) until you reach the Archways. The walk is relatively flat and does go inside some 'caves' (exists and daylight everywhere) but it can't hurt to bring a torch just in case.
Retrace your steps to return to the car.
No costs for this walk.
Contact The Hub in Chillagoe (tourist info) for more information. They are more than happy to give you information and local maps.
