Baroon Lookout

Kondalilla National Park

A great family walk up the side of the gorge to the lookout out across Obi Obi Creek as it heads north from the Baroon Dam and into the Blackall Range to join the Mary River.

Route/Trail notes:

Signposted from the information board in the car park, follow the track as is meanders uphill over various creek walkways all the way to the lookout and back. The side option are a short walk off the main track to the Narrows Lookout and the Stairs. Be aware that the Stairs is just that, 80 down and 80 back up, but this does take you right down to Obi Obi Creek, with the option of a little rock hopping along the creek bed.

Permits/Costs

None.

Comments

Second walk of the year and we hit a new one for Aussie Bushwalking! A great walk for all the family, although the little ones decided not to walk down the 'stairs' to the river. Don't blame them, as it was over 80 steps each way.
