Face Track

Getting there

You will need to take one of the other walks at Cradle Mountain to get to this walk. It is a great addition to the Hansons Peak walk, and then you can choose to return via the Lake Wilks Track, Marions Lookout or the Horse Track.

Pick up a map from the Cradle Mountain Information Centre before you start.

Route/Trail notes

This walk is a bit rough and can be quite muddy. The views are incredible though.

Permits/Costs

You will need a National Parks Pass Tasmania for this walk, but that will give you access to the free shuttle bus that operates throughout the day between the information centre and all of the car parks at Cradle Mountain.

Good alternative if weather on top of Cradle Mt is too wild. Splendid views up and down.

Wow this is a challenge but what a walk, just lovely, check the weather though....a clear day makes all the difference.

We started at Dove Lake and climbed Hanson's Peak before heading out along the Face Track. Just loved it. It was a bit rough, but well worth it.

Really loved the face track, but I wouldn’t recommend walking it in a lot of snow unless experienced. There is a lot of steep drop offs and plenty of larges drops in the track.
