Tullah Miners Hut

Getting there

Head North out of Tulah and turn left on Pieman Rd.

Follow this for a 5.2 km's till you notice the rail track on the right. This has ample space for multiple cars and had some rusty beams lying next to rail track. Park car there.

Local map on Google can locate Pieman Rd but the rail track you'l have to look out for.

Route/Trail notes

With your back to the road and facing the railway line walk to your right next to and ON the rail track, yes ON the rail track in opposite direction of rail tunnel, be careful apparently the railway line is in use. Follow this for 1 minute and you notice the blue paint on the trees on the left and pink ribbon. This is where the track start, simply follow up an down the ridge, cross a creek and up again for about 30mins. The hut will appear on right hand side. You can't get lost the track is very obvious and many ribbons along the way.

It is a 5.2km drive from the turn off onto Pieman Rd to the area to park on the right hand side by the railway line . With your back to the road and facing the railway line walk to your right beside the railway line for 1 minute and on your left you will see on your left Blue paint on some trees and pink ribon, that is the entry point to begin the walk. You won't get lost as it is an obvious track with many ribons along the way.

Would NOT recommend. DANGEROUS, ACTIVELY USED RAIL TRACK
Tried this walk based on given directions. Found the railtrack on Piemont road and the tunnel, started walking on the rail as described. Could not find pink ribbon on left side, also no clear walking path on the left. Walked at least 1,5 km. Limited space left and right from rails. We decided to turn back and seconds after we arrived back on the parking a BIG DIESEL GOODS TRAIN rumbled by. Very freaky considered we were on these rails minutes ago! (Which was probably not a good idea in the first place I admit) Posting this to prevent other people ending ip in dangerous situations!
