Very glad I had my GPS for this one. Went up via the SE Ridge which was relatively easy to follow (rangers were on the track gluing arrows to the rocks so maybe it will be even easier for future climbers). Pretty steep the whole way up with some modest scrambling. It's a bit like the push for the summit on Flinders Peak only 5 times as long. Views from the top were a bit obstructed by low clouds but fortunately when we got up there it was just clearing. Descended by the South Ridge which we thought was going to be a cake walk, I found it more tougher than the SE ascent. Lots of rock hopping, lots of opportunities to get lost, lots of falling over. Not as scenic as the SE Ridge but provides a nice view of the West Peak I wish we had time to climb. We arrived at 9:45am and got back to the car about 4:45pm with about 30 minutes at the top. Quite popular today, would have seen around 25 people on our journey.

First time doing this on a weekend, car park was packed and a steady stream of people heading up. Pretty easy walk, can ascend in around 15 minutes if you walk at a steady rate. Good view for the level of effort required to walk it, can watch all the planes on approach to Runway 18.

Thought I had an original idea of coming here for the sunset, turns out it wasn't that original afterall. Despite the crowds was a nice simple walk, similar in intensity to Mt Coolum (i.e. not very). The view from the top was excellent, can see why it attracts so many people. Has a nice central location so you can see all the major Glasshouse Mountains.

Wasn't sure what to expect initially but thoroughly enjoyed this mountain. It is fairly steep the entire way with some decent rock scrambling as well (similar to Tibrogargan except without the exposure). I took a GPS after reading through the comments and though it could be completed quite easily without one, it was nice to check every now and then to make sure we were on track. Took us about 1hr 45 to summit (fairly casual rate of climb). The view of the summit is obscured until you get to the end of the scrambling section, then it is a gentle hike to the lookout. As people have said earlier, there is a counter intuitive downhill portion of the climb where the track diverts around a sheer cliff, just keep a look out for the arrows to confirm you're heading in the right direction. Loved the view, loved the climb, one of my faves so far. Saw a snake this time, had a good streak going of not seeing any up until now.

Did this after a lot of rain so was very slippery for a lot of it. No scrambling persay just steep tracks on loose ground. The majority of it is along a fireroad which hosts some fairly awesome views of Brisbane CBD (enjoy it because there is no view at all at the summit). After the fireroad the track is quite evident until right near the top. Can still find your way up alright but back down can be a bit tricky if you don't know where you're going. Lots of lawyer vines, lots of lantana (including one thick bush that has a path cut through it), and lots of spider webs, never seen so many spider webs, we were covered in them by the end. Was primarily an exercise to test out my new GPS but was a nice walk nonetheless. Similar in difficulty to Flinders Peak (except no view, more spiders, and a lot more falling over). Took us about 3hrs return.

Really nice easy walk. Took me the same amount of time to go up as it did down because it's such a gradual climb to the top. Around 2 hours return with some time at the summit. The track curls around the mountain and you can enjoy some nice scenery along the way. The summit is like a 5 meter wide ledge with a massive drop off on either side. Feel completely safe while you're up there though. Track was very well marked with a big carpark on the other side of the road.

Starts off quite nice and undulating then it quickly becomes pretty much a steep staircase with some light scrambling. I saw the record was 22 minutes so did it without a break to see how I went. Did it in 29 minutes and felt reasonably impressed until I learned the record included a run from the town!! Not a bad view from the top, good way to kill an hour or so.

Did this one on our way back from Mt Cooroora. In comparison a lot easier, steady well marked climb to the top that is still enough to get the heart rate going. Really nice view at the top, better than Cooroora. If you walk up a bit from the main lookout there is a nice rocky outcrop that you can sit on and get a nice view on the Sunshine Coast in private.

The edge of Amberley Airspace, most GA pilots will know this mountain well because if you fly on the wrong side of it without a clearance you'll have a rather annoyed air traffic controller to deal with. Finally climbed it and was a good morning out. Took roughly 90 minutes to climb with the first part being more exhausting than the second half. Some very minor scrambling towards the end of the hike but next to no exposure. Would not consider this a difficult climb. View at the top is awesome but somewhat blocked by the Emergency Services radio facility at the summit. Track was easy to follow, no need for GPS or maps. Funnily enough they had some free maps on the tourist board at the bottom though.
Mount Beerwah Summit (Glass House Mountains National Park)

Starts off with a very small hike that leads to a smooth 70 degree rockface (saw some people turn around upon seeing it). Not too tricky to climb but a little more fiddly to get down without turning it into a tobogganless Luge ride. Rest assure that once you get past that point it does get quite a bit easier and there are lots of hand grips the whole way up. But make no mistake, you are on your hands and feet for 70-80% of it. Often there is a steep bushy area off to the side you can walk up if the climb is a bit too much. The summit is breathtaking with an amazing view to reward you for the climb. Would not recommend in the wet or to anyone who is afraid of heights. I would say it's tougher physically and exposure wise to Tibrogargan. Side note: wear pants you don't care about, because my mate came down with assless chaps afterwards. I would definitely do it again, most fun mountain I've done!

I thought people were exaggerating, turns out it is rather steep haha Starts off with a hike then turns into a climb. There is one tricky part where you have to climb a small vertical rise, however it looks a lot bigger on the way down trying to find your footing. That being said I found it to be easier on the way back down being that you can use your bum as an extra limb and have 5 points of contact. After that rise which is right near the start of the climb it becomes progressively easier until you reach the top. Once there continue walking to the other side of the summit to find an excellent viewing platform. Wasn't too physically draining but there is a fair bit of exposure to heights. Good practice for Mt Beerwah.

Decent mountain, starts with a scenic walk around the dam then quickly gets into it. There is a rocky outlook about 1/3 of the way up with a nice view if you don't want to commit to the whole mountain. After that it has a fairly consistent gradient of climb, had to have a couple of breaks to catch our breath. And I can confirm you will want to bring water with you for this (by the time our group made it to the rocky lookout 2 people had finished their water, although one of those finished it before he got out of the car #rookiemove). Great view at the top, with heaps of room to have lunch if you so chose to. Takes close to 90 minutes to get up at a comfortable rate.

Short and sweet mountain, steep paved path leading to the summit. Fairly consistent steepness the whole way up. At the summit you can climb to the first level of the firetower and get a nice view of the other Glasshouse Mountains. Guy up there said he saw a brown snake on the way up, we didn't see it but we did catch a congo line of hairy caterpillars.
