Easy, pretty walk with rock stairs with Judy, from Steve's flat while he was in Gladstone. The track was very busy, with runners from dawn, and walkers for sunset. We even did the sidewalk that Steve showed me, to the quarry face.

Steve had a one week break and we did this before I got COVID, Beautiful summit and lovely bracken groves on the way. The track was very busy on a weekday during school term. It would be impossible to find a quiet time I think. Sunrise and sunset are probably always very busy. We did this again in 2023. It is our favourite easy hike. We saw bee-eaters and scarlet honey eaters on grass trees near the summit. A friend of Steve's was at the top.

Easy graded solo walk to the summit. Terrific scenery. Saw a Lyrebird! Traffic noise from Cunningham Hwy is a bit of a distraction, but the birdlife dominates attention. Very busy in school holidays, even 9am Monday morning. I did this again in 2023 with Rob. We saw scarlet honeyeaters on grass tree stalks near the summit. We had lunch at the Dugandan Hotel on our way back to Brisbane. Lovely old pub with beer garden on a quiet street.

We went up Waterfall Gorge, over to picnic rock (slab rock), then back to the summit and down SE ridge. This is a popular route if you want to visit picnic rock, which is stunning. A very pretty, very rocky hike. Great summit with Glenis. And the same route in 2023 with Judy. This is a longer and more difficult route than going up Palm Gorge, which then leads directly up to the Summit (no trip to Picnic Rock Lookout), then back down again, taking the ridge detour of the Palm Gorge track. |

Easy little hike. Lovely summit, which involves a short scramble with a little exposure risk. Made it thanks to Steve.

Done with Rob. Long day. Hard, but rewarding. I was always too scared to do it with BBW, but it was comfortable doing it with Rob. It's a pity though, that I did not get it on my BBW record!

Done with Rob Freney. Hard long walk with lovely summit and views. Elevation gain is greater than Greville and less than Barney.

Done with Rob Freney, after twice with BBW with Steve Cockburn's friend as lead and then Chris Hall as lead. I've also gone up since with Glenis, and another time, Judy. Gorges are amazing dark and cool with narrow sides. The ridge track is expansive with great views, with picnic rock above it, which also has excellent views. The summit is treed and has limited views. My favourite is up and down the ridge. I did that with the dude from Bundaberg bushwalking club. |
