The wild Southern Ocean has carved a stunning collection of rock stacks and sheltered bays with clifftop walks, scenic lookouts and small beach coves.
Perhaps overshadowed by Port Campbell and the Twelve Apostles just down the road, the Bay of Islands offers an equally spectacular experience without the crowds.
From Port Campbell, travel west on the Great Ocean Road for 18km passing through Peterborough before turning left into the sign posted car park.
From the bottom of the car park follow the track to each of the lookouts then return before taking the walk along the cliff top to the boat ramp, beyond which is a short cliff walk to a viewpoint above the beach.
