Basket Swamp Falls

Basket Swamp National Park

Well worth the effort to visit this stunning multi-faceted waterfall situated in Basket Swamp National Park; the little sibling to Bald Rock and Boonoo Boonoo. There is a slippery fire trail where you can walk down to view the lower pools and rock hop back under the falls.

Route/Trail notes:

Front the parking area walk down to admire the Upper Falls area before returning and go down the Fire Trail, which is very steep and slippery.  DO NOT DRIVE DOWN. Half way down take a faint track to your left that will lead you onto the Lower Falls and then rock hop back up the creek to the base of the waterfall.

Return by the same route.

Permits/Costs:

None.

Other References/Comments:

The main lower falls were stunning after the summer rains though flow appears to decrease significantly if there hasn't been rain. Great place to cool off in the rock pools in summer.

Please be aware that there are no infrastructure at the falls (picnic areas, BBQ, toilets, etc). However there is a rustic camping area 3km back up at the top of the Fire Trail and to the right.

Lahs, how the hell did you find this place?

Turned out to be one of the best waterfall adventures we have ever done once you get your head around rock hopping and climbing back under the falls.
