This short stepped walkway takes you to lookouts high above World Heritage Listed Kingston, with great views of Arthur's Vale, the Settlements, Pier, Slaughter Bay and beyond to Phillip Island.
Flights from Brisbane and Sydney. From Burnt Pine Township roundabout, take Taylors Road south onto Country Road and right into Pier Street to the end, where there is ample parking. On the hillside beyond the Crankmill and Pier Store Museum, you will see the wooden steps that starts the walk.
None found.
The steep stairs lead you up past two lookouts. You can walk a little beyond the top lookout, on what was once Longridge Road, but is now private property. Return down the stairs or the old roadway to its left to the start.
None.
Information Boards are provided along the track.
The GPS track posted is accurate, but unfortunately for some reason, the elevations are way out.
With no snakes to watch out for, keep your eyes peeled for the prolific bird life. Not sure what bird it is (visual or sound), then download the free 'Norfolk Islands Birds' app produced by National Parks. Could it be the elusive and endangered Green Parrot of which there are only 200 left?
