Mt Peachester

Bellthorpe National Park

A short little walk up well maintained forestry trails to the top of Mt Peachester. There you can peer through the bushes to get some views over the surrounding countryside.

Getting there

Set your GPS to 1870 Maleny Stanley River Rd. When you arrive at the driveway (which will be on your right if coming from the east), look to the left for a small pull off area with enough room to park 2 cars. Here you will find a National Park gate - the start of the walk.

Route/Trail notes

The walk is entirely on forestry trails (that are slashed once a year, so pretty well maintained). Follow the trail until it appears you are reaching the crest of the hill then look out for another trail on your right. Follow this around and you will go down hill for a short while, then up hill to the summit. The summit is covered in trees but if you follow some rough footpads through the bushes you can find some partially obstructed outlooks.

Comments

Recently did this and found it was quite overgrown at the beginning of the walk, with long grass. Check for ticks after doing this walk, as we picked up one each. Easy to miss the start of this walk. There is room to park across the road. Both times we have walked this, we have seen quite a number of yellow tail black cockatoos in the trees above the parking area.

Nice easy walk through through some beautiful countryside. Not a bad view from the top but it is fairly obstructed. From the Wikiloc page in the description it appears that there are views of the Glasshouse Mountains elsewhere however I was a bit strapped for time so didn't get to do too much exploring. Quite a quick walk but was nice to do while I was in the area.
