Mary Cairncross Reserve

Sunshine Coast

This walk never fails to please. At a very leisurely stroll you can stop and enjoy the rainforest and spot the pademelons hidden in the bush. Best time to do the walk is early in the morning to get the pademelons and birds and to avoid the tourist buses.
Views across the road overlooking the Glass House Mountains on a clear day are spectacular.

Comments

Good walk, if quiet you can see numerous Pademelons. Take time to observe the plant life, Wonga Vines, Lawyer Cane, & numerous Fungi. If you visit after Rain, the experience is definitely enhanced

Highly recommend this walk - cool on a hot day. Lots of bird life, visible and calls. Spotted some paddymelons and they are quite tame.

A nice stroll in the woodlands! I took my dSLR with me and I got some good photos of paddy melons, a carpet python and some small finches. Very pleasant and I would recommend to do if you are in the area.

Beautiful place but very busy. Too many noisy people, they scare away the wildlife.

Love this walk. Always heaps of wildlife. Do it early in the morning (before 10am) or afternoon (after 4pm) to avoid all the busy times.

Simple circuit every easy. Wheel chair access on part. Plenty of different trees market it that your thing. Creek at the bottom was just a trickle.. but understandable given the recent dry weather

This track is wonderful for beginners with a coffee at the end my highlight. I have not done this walk for many years and it always such a treasure. There are loads of Paddymelon wallabies to see with their little babies.

There were so many beautiful and varied types of fungi to see. One looked like a lace doily. We saw bats and pademelons too. Enjoyed lunch and the view at the restaurant. I can recommend the salt and pepper calamari. Lovely and tender.
