Ipswich - Purga Nature Reserve

The Purga Nature Reserve allows visitors to view the largest
protected area of endangered Swamp Tea Tree forest in
Ipswich. These self-guided walks provide visitors a unique
opportunity to explore vegetation and watch wildlife while
only 15 minutes from Ipswich Central.

Getting there

From the Cunningham Highway head south on Middle Road 

(approximately 8.5 kilometres) then east along the access road 

to the Reserve.

Worth the detour if you are in the area. Middle road is in good condition.

Really lovely different walk. Sooooo dry, no water around at all in the wetlands. Will come back after some rain.
