West Canungra Creek Circuit

Lamington National Park

The circuit descends to 'Yerralahla' (blue pool) passing by some large rainforest trees including red cedar Toona ciliata, and then follows the creek for most of its length, crossing it several times. Eels inhabit the West Canungra Creek. They bite when threatened and injuries have occurred. Creek crossings may be difficult to navigate and the circuit might not be obvious in places. Take particular care at creek crossings, especially after rain. Check track conditions with a ranger before you leave. The circuit exits via the Box Forest circuit.

Return to Lamington after an abscene.

Drove in early morning trying to work out what to do and did this.

Throughly enjoyed it though I would like to go back in summer with pair of divers boots, a min wet suit and rock-hop paddle through the creek instead of walking along side of it.

Second time on this one. Great!

My favourite walk at Green Mountains. The precession of waterfalls and track engineering to access the creek is mind boggling.

Did this one by mistake (meant to do Box Circuit instead). Glad we did this one though, two fantastic waterfalls and plenty to see. Was after rain so had to cross a flooded path. Recommend an early start for this one.

Love this walk. Plenty of waterfalls and creek crossings.

Great walk this was my 2nd walk down to blue pools, I remember this one in particular because I nearly stood on what I though was a death adder curled up sunning itself on a flat rock pad...I think worldwalker would remember this, still not sure if we did these walks in September or October..

This walk was a bit hard to follow in some places. It would have been easy to get lost. We saw the eel in the blue pool, and nearly stood on what looked like a brown snake lying on the path. We really enjoyed the walk though. All of the creek crossings were great.
