A very long day walk (or bike ride) from Darlington, or easily accessible in a day from Frenchs Farm / Encampment Cove campgrounds. The walk along a sandy track end at the Robeys Farm farmhouse, which is in pretty good condition and has a number of original artefacts inside the house.
One of the many walks on Maria Island, which is reached by a regular ferry from the town of Triabunna (multiple daily services in summer; less frequent in winter). The distances for this walk are based on starting at Frenchs Farm campground - if starting at Darlington it would be about 44km return via the Coast Road (feasible by bike but a very long day-walk).

Refer to Darlington to Frenchs Farm entry for the first section. From Frenchs Farm, a very sandy track follows the edge of Shoal Bay and along the middle of McRaes Isthmus, the narrow point between the south and north sections of Maria Island. Just after the isthmus there's a junction, with the track to Robeys Farm branching off to the right. It’s about 5km (one-way) from the junction, on what seems to be an old vehicular track. It’s sandy in places, but generally shaded and fairly level.
There is a cost for the ferry to reach Maria Island. A National Parks Pass is also required.
