Walked Witches Falls Circuit and adjoining Witches Chase. Have not walked this track since i was a child. I personally think this is one of the most beautiful and interesting walks on the mountain. Walked very early and passed no-one. Rugged terrain and may be challenging for the beginner. Falls were only weak but still amazing to look at the cliffs below. Lots of interesting birdlife...especially near the seasonal lagoon.

I started on the Witches Chase before walking the falls circut and then finished again on the chase. Best walked early in the morning to appreciate the forests birdlife. A few stair sections and an awesome boulder section. You will need to pay attention and watch where your going as its narrow in sections and rocks are jagged. Take time to stop at the boulder section to look up the hillside to a giant strangker fig with many elkhorns and moss.

Nice easy track. Walked very early in the morning and passed only 1 other person. Falls not a big as I've seen previously there due to lack if rain. View at lookout was amazing. We could see Brisbane city in the distance. We saw lots of bird life, fungus, insects and even a koala. There is also a large lace monitor in the park at the start if the lookout who approaches quite close. |
