Date:22/04/17 Time: 3.5 hrs Elevation:677m Mountain Rating: 7/10 G'day all, Brendo & Loz here for another Brendo & Loz mountain review. This time we're climbing Flinder's Peak, just outside the charming, yet uninspiring, town of Ipswich, Australia. -Nice climb, with picturesque rocky saddles that have good views of Ippy and Bris up until the summit. -Lots of pretty flowers and hairy grubs having groupsex on the way up- quite lovely. -Scrambling was easy going, our underpants were -free post climb. -Final summit has a great view, and there's a nice rocky outcrop past the solar panels to chill out. -Descent was slow going. Gotta take your time to make sure you don't slide down the dirt trail (not fun). -Brendo & I shared a Sapporo beer at the summit and took in the view. Sapporo is a beer from the north island of Japan, that is brewed under licence in Australia by Coopers in North Adelaide. It has a nutty taste but goes down smoothly. Having had my fair share of Sapporo in Sapporo, I can tell you that Coopers do a good job recreating the beer here. Cases tend to retail at $48-52. We give the mountain a 7 and the beer an 8. -Brendo and Loz |
