I am on a health kick and fitness kick, and in the past 6-7 weeks lost over 9KG, so I was PUMPED for this one. I have hiked a few places, but this one started off reasonably, then got a nice gradient on it and really felt it in my legs. Then when I saw the steps up I thought it cant be all that bad. Well I was wrong, it was amazingly hard on my legs, I did however have a 6KG backpack on me (my idea of thinking more weight on my back the better it will be for wieght loss as I will be working harder, and work harder I did!.... I think I managed to half way before I was puffing and panting, but the view was amazing and spurred me on to go further. About 5 more mins and I stopped again, legs were on fire and I was feeling dizzy pushing myself hard, so I chilled out on a rock and soaked up the scenery. I was about to give up around 20-30 meters from the top and some guy said mate, keep it going its worth it.. so I just did it, got that last 30 meters smashed and when I reached the top I was extremely happy and motivated!!. Down was a crazy time, I am not a massive fan of heights, but I was surprisingly ok with it, I just found that my legs seemed to work harder than going up. Anyway, all up a GREAT WALK!! And people that think they may give up on this one, DONT!! its well worth the pain. |
