Mount Ninderry offers Stunning views from the east and west lookouts, offering many places to stop at the top for a snack while you take in the view. Mount Ninderry is good to do as a group or alone, and it is pet and child friendly. Not too far from the mountain is the township of Yandina, with a few nice cafes to stop for lunch or, on Saturday, the morning markets, which offer a wide range of fruit and vegetables and a fair few food outlets. If that isn't what you're after, it's a 20-minute drive to Coolum Beach or a 10 minute drive to Wappa Falls. |

The Box Forest Circuit is well worth the walk and the drive. After walking 1.8 kilometres down the border track, you can go clockwise or anticlockwise. Going clockwise and descending into the valley, you can hear the waterfalls all around. At the bottom, you are greeted with a small cascade and a stunning waterfall. I prefer to go clockwise to enjoy the hike back up along the river, encountering all the waterfalls along the way. There are many places to stop for lunch and a breather if needed. If you're after a quick walk and only want to see one fall, then I highly recommend going counter-clockwise down to Elebana Falls. This is a kid-friendly adventure if you're trying to get them to do a longer distance and I would recommend this track for weighted pack training. This makes a great full day hike including drive time. |

This is a good walk. well signed, you can park just across from the entrance to the lower box forest circuit and head straight down. it opens up into a large green space at the bottom of the hill where you can have a nice picnic or spot for lunch. but if you just want to keep going then head right and follow the signs. I would recommend this walk for hikers looking to start out or groups of casual walkers and for families whose kids can handle the distance, is not very difficult to do. There are lots of beautiful things to see on this walk with great views all along the track. if you are pack/ weight training this is good to give it a go there are plenty of places to rest |

Daves Creek Circuit (Lamington National Park) |

Dave Creek Circuit is a hike close to my heart, with stunning views and plenty of different biomes to see. I have done this hike in heavy downpours and sunny days. I often do this hike counterclockwise so I can end the hike with Surprise Rock. Surprise Rock is easy enough to scramble up if somewhat a little overgrown. There are many great spots to stop and have lunch on the track a particular favourite is beside a little creek on the second half of this track as you pass over some small wooden bridges. If you go on a weekend I would head up early parking can be difficult during school holidays and weekends but usually during the week it is very good. If you are looking to pack train or weight train daves creek is good to start increasing your distance on. not too steep but with plenty of gradual inclines and declines. I would recommend this to older kids but not something i would take younger kids on unless you are prepared to carry them most of the way. Happpy adventures everyone! |
