I & my 12-year-old son started from Picnic point and finished at Sassafras gully road. Throughout the 11 km, we were close to the stream and closed it numerous times. Two great waterfalls along the way. Truly worth the hike.

The plan was to do the harder Wentworth pass trail but it was closed due to rock falls. We decided to do the Nature track which is a 4 KM medium circuit. It is a beautiful trail with a few creeks and the excellent Empress falls. Marking needs to be improved as we took the wrong way towards the Leura golf course. Thankfully it was not too long and returned easily. We were also lucky (?) to spot a snake and a few birds.
Riverside Walking Track (Greater Sydney) |
22 Dec, 2018 |
Easy |
5km one-way 90 mins |

Went for this walk with my 2 kids aged 10 & 7. It was an easy hike and the kids managed without much difficulty. However, the hike was surprising & challenging in other aspects. We spotted a snake very early in the trail (started at Bloodwood access trail) and towards the end lost our way to the starting point. Signs are not good enough and definitely needs improvement. With some assistance from the staff at the boatshed, I decided to proceed to Koonjerie picnic area and hired a cab back to the Bloodwood trail. My recommendation is to print the maps and plan the hike in advance.

Otford to Figure of Eight Pools Circuit (New South Wales) |
30 Dec, 2017 |
Hard |
15km return 6 hrs |

Started by Otford station. The trail that leads directly to figure 8 pools has been temporarily closed and therefore need to reach Burning palms beach and then climb the rocks to reach the pools. Clear signs and the part just before the beach is awesome with a great view of the ocean and grass all around. The return was a bit challenging as the elevation was high. Overall it was a great hike.

Started at 7:30 AM from Westmead and drove for 1.5 hours and it was misty near Blue mountains. Enjoyed the drive in the pleasant weather. Parked in between Evan's lookout and Neat Gleanes car park and started the hike from Evan's lookout at 9 AM. Did not meet any human during the first 60 minutes. Well laid trial with clear directions. Completed by 10:30 at Neat Gleanes and walked to the car park. Left the place at 11 AM. Good and a moderate hike. Enjoyed it |
