Exquisite scenery and vegetation with abundant wildlife and some great bird watching for some of the rain forest species. Fairly easy walk with good swimming. Some truly wonderful plants along the upper reaches. Can be done on a very sunny hot day as you are well within the cover of the forest canopy. If you don't want to drive back home afterwards there is a really nice B&B called Rosellas right at the car park.

If you're willing to get wet it really is a fun walk. You tend to be out of the sun all day so can even do this walk on really hot days. Can get a bit busy for the small car park on public holidays and over school breaks.

One of the best swim spots in South East Queensland! Take enough water along on a hot day as there is not much along the way until you reach the actual portals. Beautiful to swim amongst the eels! Please take care of your food as the monitors here are very habituated. Don't leave anything behind to encourage them either.

Quick fun and easy hike if you don't have much time. Loads of Lantana weeds unfortunately but still great to have this at the front door of a town as big as Towoomba. |
