Took 2-3 hours, including some time at the summit. As we approached this mountain we thought it was too steep and too tall for us to reach the summit. We had an 8 year old with us. But we all did, and glad we did as it was an accomplishment that we thoroughly enjoyed! Wear. Good. Grip. Footwear!! :P. And avoid when it's rainy or you may slip all over the steep rocks. The views at the top are in different locations where trees arent obstructing, as there are many trees at the top. Still great photo spots. One of my favourite mountains I've done! One hiker we met brings her four year old up, although I wouldnt, as it was a challenge for the 8 year old with us. Stay by the chains when they are there. At one point we didnt because another way looked easier. That was a mistake as I got 'stuck'with genuine fear at that point. Pretty high mountain so if youre pretty scared of heights, might not be for you. I post photos of my hikes to instagram.com/spring_beans and I am based in the Sunshine Coast :)

I really struggled to find the trail carpark. Type 2672 Old Gympie Rd into your GPS. This one is not a popular walking trail so at first I left when I was a lone female and came back with my husband. Near the start of the trail we turned right instead of left and ended up near someone's private property, so the trails need signage. Just walking up to the closest peak was exhausting enough (high and steep) but not in a bad way, we went back down the way we came instead of doing the trail loop. Beautiful views, quiet and private at the summit. Wildlife about but saw no snakes. next time I wouldnt mind spending more time at the summit.. bring some food or drinks or both. Liked this! One reason why.. Amazing views of brisbane and its city from the summit. And get a coffee (restaurant and cafe up here) and relax on seats up the top and enjoy the view and the breeze. Walk wasnt hard, the falls were puddles of stagnant water due to lack of rainfall

That last bit uphill to the car exhausts me but always love this walk. Swam here once and loved it. Beautiful views. But walking to view the large waterfall is exhausting coming back up plus uphill back to the carpark.. Not sure I would go so down again. The rainforest is beautiful. One of the best walks if not THE best walk in this region. I post photos of my hikes to instagram.com/spring_beans am based in the Sunshine Coast :) |
