Great summit hike - I preferred this to the proper Cootha Summit track. Gentle rise virtually the whole way, good views, less populated than Summit. 30 minutes up, 20 minutes down jogging.

Really decent walk. Couple of steep sections, not overly challenging. Theres a number of different ways you could go on these tracks - good variety.

Great hiking/training trek. Jacksonia is all downhill, easy as. Following it straight through until a primary intersection, left towards Beilby/Greenfird street, 800m to the Kokoda junction. That last km of Kokoda was a challenge for a relatively unfit guy like myself, but what a challenge to complete when you get to the top!

Really enjoyable walk. Went after rains, rained twice during my trek. Went anti-clockwise, first half the walk is little to no views but the track itself is really pretty. Second half the scrub opens up and the views are worth the walk. Got lost at the T Junction where “Beware Feral Pigs” sign is located. Take the track to the right, on that almost immediately theres a fork, go left. If you end up walking through thick, high, dead, branchy scrub youve gone too far. After going left, you should soon come to a creek (dry) crossing, shortly after you should spot an old horse plow that has been left to fall apart (Will be on your left). If you find that & youre continuing on a track large enough for 4WD - youre going the right way. Shortly after the plows theres another fork, take the left (walking track) and not the continued multi use, larger track. The rest is easy 👍🏼

Great walk to get the heart pumping. All in all took me 45 minutes, with a slight detour off onto an adjoining track for a quick look. Handful of steep sections, the ascent clockwise would be easier than going anti-clockwise. Really dry, would be fantastic after some good rain.

Really enjoyable walk. Even though Im out of shape I found this walk positively challenging (incline most of the way up) with super rewarding views at the top. Plenty of toilets and bins at the JC Slaughter Falls park, and water bubblers are scattered along the Summit Walk. The walk itself was well prepared and maintained, not quite a naturalists dream but awesome considering its 15 minutes from the CBD. Great for kids or those new to bushwalking! |
