Attempted but not completed - tapped out due to tricky navigation and non-existent track. Easy to get to yerralahla/ blue pools. From there you will see the ‘closed track’ sign. We tried 3 different routes- first following 6-7 pink tags on the west side of the creek, which take you to waters edge then peter out. Tried to keep going creek side but got pretty dense/wet. Went back to where tags finished and stayed high- not so dense but saw a red belly black snake and got spooked. Then went back to waters edge at the north end of blue pool and crossed the creek in the shallows. There were no pink tags but an old sign and old path. Followed this for a bit but got pretty dense quickly and we were worried about snakes so packed it in. Definitely seemed right to cross the creek at blue pools and not get mixed up with pink tags! Also we spent about 60 mins figuring this out so allow extra time. Good luck!
Daves Creek Circuit (Lamington National Park)

Fantastic walk, something a bit different to the usual Lamington rainforest once you get on the Dave’s track. Although it’s recommended by Parks to complete clockwise, we followed signs and found ourselves walking anticlockwise. This was totally fine, you won’t miss the cave (on a side track, but there is a sign), Numinbah lookout, picnic creek or surprise rock. To walk clockwise, when you see the sign saying left for Ships Stern and right for Dave’s, go left and a short way down the track you’ll branch off to the right again for Dave’s.

The lookout or picnic creek (if hot and sunny) would be the best lunch spots. We were up in the clouds at surprise rock.

Returned via Tullawallal (added 1.4kms) and the loop circuit (approx same distance as border track). Saw 2 king parrots and a couple of pademelons in this area.

Unfortunately the ramp down to see the fossils is currently closed so this walk was fairly uninteresting. Good views of the water and grassy hills. Huge hill to walk up if doing the circuit. Glad we had bikes to get out of the sun a bit faster. Saw a bandicoot thing in the greener inland part of the walk.

This is not a bushwalk. It’s a rock scramble/climb. The hardest/steepest part is at the start of the rock face. Gets easier from there although it is a long scramble to the top. I am afraid of heights and going up was scarier for me. Coming down crabwalking on bum was no worries. Took 1.5 hrs up and 1.25 back. Note the track is actually currently closed by QPSW.
