The time of year to do this hike was perfect; cool days for walking and cold nights for camping. The trails are wide and clear and the vegetation along the way varied, with some beautiful flowers and colours to be seen. I really enjoyed it. I walked the anti-clockwise direction, starting at Mulligans, as I didn't get started until after 1pm. The first leg is only 10kms so achievable in 3 hours. The second leg was a lot longer, skipping Grassy Creek camp site, particularly with Duffy Falls added in; about 20km. The falls are great, with a bit of a steep descent to see them. Last day was also about 20kms, with the diversion to see Dandahra Crag, which is a cave formed by large boulders and a great view. The granite boulder formations, seen along this leg, always fascinate me. Phone/internet reception was almost non-existent, happening at random spots along the walk and not at the camp sites. |
