Had a ‘great’ time on this walk. ☺️ Perfect time to do it with the creeks and waterfalls all flowing nicely. Even though it’s a hotter time of year, the majority of the walk is in shade and with the ability to refresh with a creek or waterfall dip often during the walk, it makes for a very pleasant experience. The cold water is perfect for reinvigorating muscles and preventing inflammation, meaning you can keep going up those steep climbs and feel a million dollars at the end of it. We did it over 2.5 days from Baroon to Ghurella with a night each camping at Flaxton and Ubajee camps. We had already done the Ghurella loop so opted to spend the third day just exploring the adjoining creeks and waterfalls. Track was in great condition. Camps clean and stocked. Just treated the water with aquatabs. No complaints at all. Some mention too much trudging along the road. Sure I think we’d all agree that it’d be nicer to be out in the bush, but these sections whilst more exposed in parts, are quite minimal across the length of the walk and not entirely unpleasant with some great views to the coast and some pretty hinterland properties to peruse. The rest of the walk is more than worth walking these links. It’s all about perspective. Lots of lovely critters including water dragons, goanna’s, butterflies, dragonflies, tree snakes, and many different birds. No leaches, and mozzies and horse flies around but not overwhelming. Some decent climbs and lots of different forest types. Favourite section was the creek below Kondallila Falls but loved it all. 😃👍🏻 |
