Excellent for people looking for an overnight walk fairly close to Brisbane - one of the closest overnight walks from the northside. Walk was approximately 4 hours there and 5 hours back going at a decent pace - the road is a bit up and down but very clearly marked. That said, ensure you have a map or GPS as it can feel a bit disorienting. The campsite is clearly marked and has a lovely little fire pit with logs around it to sit on. It is right (~10m) next to a creek which is simply stunning to sit next to and explore. The creek was flowing fast when we went - the nearest water tank if the creek is not flowing is at Northbrook Mountain Bush Camp. If I recall correctly this is at least two hours away. Hence if it has not rained in a while it would be prudent to check beforehand if the creek is flowing. |
