Great track with a variety of landscapes. Views from the mountain towards Cunningham's Gap are gorgeous, as are those from the Governor's Chair. Really enjoyed walking along the old mining road to the Chair too, ancient eucalypts abound.
Morans Falls (Lamington National Park)

Really beautiful track. Fairly easy walk through rainforest down to a lookout over the falls. Follow the track through, over the gorgeously clear freshwater creek, and you come out to a second lookout over the valley. Nice short walk, worth a look.

An easy sealed track. Busy even on a Monday morning, but the natural bridge is beautiful nonetheless. Worth a walk into the cave to see all the tiny bats flying.

This track is a favourite of mine, where dry bushland turns into a set of vibrant pools and a gushing creek. Absolutely beautiful.
Bare Rock track and Morgan's Walk (Main Range National Park)

Lovely track along the top of the range. The views looking out from Bare Rock are surreal, and the walk toward it across the ridge is stunning. If you're tired, Morgan's Walk may be worth skipping, not too much there.
Winder Track (Main Range National Park)

Really beautiful walk through a variety of forest types, plenty of massive hoop pines adorn the track. Not much to see in terms of views though, unlike the other tracks in the park. There are a lot of pig diggings along the track, which led to a rather terrifying encounter with a family of wild pigs about a kilometre from the winder. After seeing us walk up over a crest on the track, a mother pig charged at us. We ran quite far in the opposite direction until her and her piglets were out of sight. Probably won't return after that experience, there are too many diggings and it doesn't seem like the pig population here is controlled very well.

Such a beautiful walk. Stunning rainforest and bush, with some ancient 30+ meter gum trees and hoop pines along the way. Plenty of tiny streams and beautiful look out spots. Near the top, there are a fair few stairs, that are unfortunately close to a lot of wait-a-while vines. Got caught a few times, but it wasn't too bad. Views from the summit are incredible. Had a nice little picnic on the flat rocks in the sun at the top, plenty of tiny birds and lizards. No leeches, bugs or other annoyances to be seen.
Venman Circuit (South East Queensland)
10 May, 2015
Medium

We walked around the Venman Circuit in two hours, instead of their signed time of four. Regardless, do be aware of your starting time, as the carpark gates are closed at 5.30pm. The tracks are pretty around the creek, lots of wallabies about the place. The rest of the landscape is pretty scrubby. Some brief but steep hills. Lots of cobwebs at head height, so it's worthwhile carrying a stick to clear the track ahead of you.
Upper Portals (Mt Barney National Park)

Walked this track two days after heavy rainfall. We took the 4WD up to the beginning of the track. Pretty spectacular views at the beginning of the track of the surrounding mountains. Steep walk downhill to the portholes - beautiful after so much rain, so many small waterfalls and creeks everywhere. Plenty of beautiful old pine trees. We followed the trail and ended up making 14 creek crossings each way - cold but well worth it. Definitely a pretty track but I'm not so sure what it would be like in drier conditions.

A pretty, easy walk. Quite a few kangaroos about and lots of beautiful birds. We went during light rain, and it was lovely to see so much water flowing. Take care on the wet granite, as it's very slippery.
