Despite being labelled as ruins of a fort, there is literally nothing remaining. It is just a hill with a minor view of the town of Akechi. Don't expect too much. The hike is also a bit confusing.
If coming by train, take the Akechi Tetsudo line from Ena station to Akechi station.
If driving, park at the Taisho no Mura (Romantei) which is opposite the Valor. It is free parking.
Google Maps
From either Akechi Station or the Taisho no Mura parking lot, type Ochiai Toride into Google Maps. Alteratively you can plug Senjojiki Park into Google Maps, it will take you to the same place. The route takes you along the streets of Akechi. If it so tickles your fancy, check out some of the museums along the way as Akechi is littered with them.
As you follow the road, you will see wooden signs written in Japanese pointing towards the Toride. Look out for the kanji 砦. Once you reach a graveyard, follow the path into the graveyard and continue up the hill. Continue on this track until you reach the summit. There are some signs that talk about the history of the fort and what it was used for. If you so desire, you can descend into Senjojiki Park which is directly next to the summit. In the park is a well where apparently Akechi Mitsude had his first bath after being born.
Follow same route back.
Nada
Good luck finding anything else.
