In sleepy Iwamura there is a sign that self-proclaims itself to be the best rural landscape in all of Japan. It's a bold claim and one that I would personally disagree with, but nonetheless it exists. From the lookout you get a 360 view of farmland and ricefields. Something that you can see anywhere in Japan. Do not get your hopes up, just because it is apparently the best in Japan.
You get here either by car or by public transport. If taking public transport, take the Akechi Tetsudo line from Ena station to Iwamura station. From the station walk to the trailhead.
If driving, input 日本一農村景観 into google maps. Note that there is no carpark at the trailhead, but the road is wide enough that you can park your car in the shoulder of the road next to the trailhead. This seems to be the meta as everyone is doing it.

Google does the job
From the 'carpark' walk up the staircase. Follow the staircase until you reach the lookout. That's it. It's very straightforward. If you got lost you deserve an award. Climb back down the same way.

How can I find more info? Any guide books?
Good luck finding anything else!
