This track starts from the top of Maiala day-use area (the south side of Mount Glorious Road) and runs along the escarpment to the Western Window—an expansive undulating view to the west. Visit the window at sunset for an awe-inspiring day’s end.

Start opposite the Maiala Picnic Ground Carpark, MOUNT GLORIOUS, QLD

Route/Trail notes

From the carpark cross the road to the other side of the picnic ground. You will find the entrance from there. For further guidance see attached GPS. (Return the same way or via the Westside track.)

Western window has great views. Track is rainforesty and makes you feel like you are a million miles away even though the road is just there. Far less populated than the other local walks.

I'm sure we've walked this track many years ago but remember it being very over-grown. It certainly isn't now. There were a few minor obstacles on the track but that's all. We saw a couple of pademelons along the way. The view isn't bad.

A nice lookout. You can cheat by parking alongside the road and walking down the steps. If you are after a bit more of a challenge consider combining this walk with the Westside Track.
