An opportunity to enjoy a walk through the Botanic Gardens and continue on up through the Reserve to the summit lookout atop Mt Coot-tha.
The Botanic Gardens are off Mt Coot-tha Road heading west out of the Brisbane City towards the M5 (Western Freeway), where there is plenty of parking.
From the Information Centre head to the Tropical Display Dome and onto the Fern House and pick up the roadway to the left of the Japanese Garden. Follow the road up past the Lookout, National Freedom Way to the Botanic Gardens Lookout. From here, follow the road to the left and after about 500m, there is a pathway to your right that takes you up past the Lake and Water Fountain and at the top take a pathway left to the top car park.
At the bottom of that car park is an entry gate to the Mt Coot-tha Reserve. Follow the steep uphill track along the fence line to your right, past the quarry till you intersect Sir Samuel Griffith Drive. Cross the road and pick up the path left that takes you to the top of the road, where you walk left along the road to the lookout.
None.
The Botanic Gardens are beautiful and extensive, so if you have the time, have a good look around.
