Mapleton Falls

Route/Trail notes:

From the car park, a 10m walk provides a raised platform to enjoy the view of the falls. From here, continue downhill along the track and across two creeks before the circular track begins. There are numerous interpretive signs and also a second viewing platform at Peregrine Lookout.

Permits/Costs:

None.

Other References/Comments:

This walk forms part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk (58km). Nearby Baxter Falls is a far more exciting and challenging area to visit.

As ever, there is an option to get to the base of the falls, but this is for the very experienced only and requires GPS navigation, covers 9k, 3h and a lot of bush bashing.

Comments

Agree with below comment. Lookout closed from landslide. Hopefully they fix the foundations as it was a bit disappointing to do the wompoo walk (which is a good walk), to not finish with a view of the falls. :( apart from lookout, track maintained well. Good for kids.

Short pleasant walk however there is no view of the falls from the Wompoo Circuit. The lookout to the Falls is currently closed due to a landslide at the foundations of the structure. I could not find any other way to view the Falls :( The top is densely covered.

Quick and easy, lots of nice birdsong. It is however the only place in my whole life I've ever picked up a leech, so be extra vigilant if it's just rained.

Easy nice walk , plenty of bird life ( will need good camera as they sit high up ) and great views to be admired

Nice easy walk. Great view over the valley. You can't really see the falls though.
