Route/Trail notes:

From the car park, a 10m walk provides a raised platform to enjoy the view of the falls. From here, continue downhill along the track and across two creeks before the circular track begins. There are numerous interpretive signs and also a second viewing platform at Peregrine Lookout.

None.

Other References/Comments:

This walk forms part of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk (58km). Nearby Baxter Falls is a far more exciting and challenging area to visit.

As ever, there is an option to get to the base of the falls, but this is for the very experienced only and requires GPS navigation, covers 9k, 3h and a lot of bush bashing.

A lovely short walk out in nature in the sunshine coast hinterland.

Loved this walk in the rainforest with palm trees great walk a few stairs and the waterfall can be seen from viewing platform

Wonderful viewing platform right next to the car park, although you can't really see much of the waterfall. Park facilities = a great place to have a picnic. And to top it off the walk had educational cues and the 2nd view point also didn't disappoint.

Completed this as part of the Sunshine Coast Great Walk. Day 2 is easier than day one with less uphill walking and drier forest which meant you didn’t have to watch your step as much.

Great view of the falls and unexpectantly high view of the valley below.. it was a rainy day and a little slippy in a couple of parts. We walked with 3 under 12 and thoroughly enjoyed the rainforest and all its wonders.. did also happen upon our first leech, picked up in one of the puddles we think..

Nice walk. Don't expect to have the full view of the falls.

Beautiful easy walk, well marked.

Super easy circuit. The main lookout at the car park has a beautiful view. The lookout on the circuit isn't all that amazing as you can't see much at the moment as its a bit overgrown and blocking a lot of the view however the trail is beautifully done and deff one to check out if you're in the area!

Nice easy walk around Wompoo Circuit. No way that I could find of getting to the bottom of the Mapleton Falls to view them. Stunning view of the valley beyond from the viewing platform.

Graeme "Watto" on 2 Jun, 2020

Great view but the walk's very easy and not much of a challenge if that's what you're looking for.

Is there any way to get to the bottom of the waterfall?

Amazing views, easy walk, good track for families with kids

Easy walk and spectacular lookout over Mapleton Falls. Would be especially impressive during the wet season :)

A magical wonderland

Relatively easy walk. The view from the falls and the lookout are spectacular. It’s not the best marked track, Ended walking up towards Daymar road before deciding it was the wrong way, a deviation that added a 200-400m to the walk. There’s a couple of nice picnic spots with shelters.

magical mist in the morning rain.

Beautiful view to see the Sunshine Coast hinterlands - make sure to wear some good hiking boots.

bnotters on 13 May, 2017

This was the second of three 'falls walks' we completed today and in terms of waterfalls, is was very disappointing. All views are from the top of the falls and yes, you can see the water coming over the top of the falls, but that is about it. The walk around the Wompoo Circuit was far more interesting.

Part of this Circuit made up the 2016 Blackall 100 course.

An easy walk, a little steep at the start. Toilets and heaps of picnic tables here. The lookout from the car park is still closed. A nice view can be seen from the Peregine Lookout on the circuit (you can't see the falls from here though).

rob.bushman on 14 Feb, 2016

Agree with below comment. Lookout closed from landslide. Hopefully they fix the foundations as it was a bit disappointing to do the wompoo walk (which is a good walk), to not finish with a view of the falls. :( apart from lookout, track maintained well. Good for kids.
