Take a walk back in time as you follow the track of the old Buderim to Palmwoods Tramway, with various information points along the way. It will transport your mind back to a time where this active rail connection was the spine of a growing community. At the same time, the setting is beautiful with a natural environment that boasts towering trees, small mosses, and fern gullies.
From Buderim, head west on Burnett Street into William Street and then right into Mons Road towards Nambour. After about 1km, turn left into Telco Road and park immediately on your left.
Buderim Palmwood Tramway Trail
Cross the road from the car park and either walk down the wheelchair friendly ramp or the track to its left down to the information board. From here, just follow the old tramway through the rainforest past Telco Station, Mons Station and the Cutting to the new houses. The trail turns right and then peters out with a sign that erosion has destroyed the track. Return by the same route.
None.
This is koala habitat, so keep your eyes peeled. It is interesting to note that the forestation on this the western side of Buderim hill is very different to the eastern, with taller rain forest trees but with less girth than on the drier eastern side. There is also plenty of bird life to keep the 'twitchers' happy.
