It was an easy walk to the crater. The colour of the water is a beautiful green/blue and the colour on the rockwall was very interesting. Do go and have a look at the Dinner Falls while you are here. Don't expect too much of it and you'll appreciate it then. |

We enjoyed this walk very much. The Nandroya Falls were very impressive, it's a 60 meter drop waterfall up the top and down the bottom there's a very wide waterfall. A lush, bright green rainforest track with a bit of rock hopping to cross a couple of small waters. So worth it! Being there at the end of the wet season makes it more spectacular, but can get a bit slippery at certain spots.

This is quite a steep and narrow track and can get quite slippery at some places, especially after a bit of rain. However it is very easy to follow and down the bottom you'll start hearing the water coming down of the waterfall. It is very impressive to watch the force of water plunging down. The mist that comes of the bottom of the falls makes it even more special on sunny days, because there will be a beautiful rainbow visible. Best time to be there for this is mid morning. So worth it! The climb going back to the car park, can be a bit difficult for some in the humidity of this rain forest.

Nice walk, but couldn't finish it unfortunately. We were here at the end of the wet season and the water crossing was way too slippery with the moss built up on the rocks. We'll try again next time when we visit this beautiful area.

Wow,wow, so worth it! Easy to follow path and about 10 water crossings where you need to rock hop. The beautiful colours of the sandstone are absolutely mind blowing. We've made our way all the way to the Big Bend first and on our way we took all the sidetracks to Boowinda gorge. Exploring our way further and further in through the gorgeous gorge! The amphitheatre and moss garden are the highlights of it all in our opinion. Very beautiful overall and spotted a bit of wild life as well: bush kangaroos, enchidna, lizards, pale faced parrots and sparrows.

After making it to the Big Bend, we've started to explore the Boowinda gorge. This goes for a long way and it keeps amazes you after every bend further through the gorge. Very rocky and you definitely need good ankle supported shoe wear. So worth it and would love to go back to explore this gorge even further and further.

One of our favorite hiking experiences so far. We've arrived at Sandstone park the day before and started the next day on the Big Bend walk. On day one we've completed the following: Big bend, Boowinda gorge, Art gallery, Amphitheatre, Moss garden. It was spectacular and the path is very well signed and easy to follow. Make sure you'll bring plenty of water and lunch with you. We had a rest day and came back the following day to do the following tracks: The nature trail with the hope to spot some platypus, unfortunately we weren't that lucky. Boolimba Bluff is quite a steep climb with lots of steps, but the view at the top is absolutely amazing. We really loved the amphitheatre , so made our way back there to admire those beautiful colours and height of the sandstone walls once more. When we got back to the car, we drove to Mickey creek and parked the car there. Easy bushwalk, but when you get to the T-section, definitely make your way to the right towards the Warrumbah gorge. Stunning to be able to explore our way further and further through the gorge. Mickey creek was a bit of a downer compare to the gorge. To finish off our fantastic experience at Carnarvon gorge, we had a dip in the rock pool. Lovely setting of slow moving water to cool off your feet and sit on a rock to watch the small fish around you. Very pleasant and refreshing! |

Amazing walk and after having a bit of rain 2 days before, some paths were quite slippery. It was an easy path to follow and the highlights of the walk, were definitely walking behind the 2 waterfalls. Fantastic and will do this walk again in the future, probably clockwise to change it up a bit. This walk only took us just under 4 hours in a very comfortable pace.

Beautiful track, well worth it! By doing this longer track, you have the rain forest mostly to yourself. Lots of people at the main car park, picnic area, shorter walks. Only a small part of this track was barricaded off, but a detour was in place. Unfortunately there a few more walks closed because of fallen trees, etc. |
