Trying to escape the heatwave hitting SEQ today, but even 37 degrees at Mt Glorious. This is a very pleasant walk, some variety to the trail, lots of wildlife and fun things to show the kids. We will come back here regularly.

What a great way to kick off the new year! But a very hot day to do this walk, and we were not prepared with our togs (next time!). This is a good walk for a hot day, but make sure to take plenty of water as the trail goes up and down through 5-6 dry creek crossings, even though only about 20m net altitude gain from the car park to the Lower Portals, I think you go up and down 200m across the various ridges on the way.

A great walk, and fantastic views from the summit, but keep away from the sheer vertical cliffs. Also watch out for stinging nettles (or trees?) and leeches, but otherwise a great trip, highly recommend it.

A great walk, but can be crowded. We like to do as training walk, have done probably nearly 10 times now. Last time we drove up the road was closed, but it has been awhile (perhaps May 2013?)

Wow, what an amazing place. The views from the top of Bald Rock are fantastic, but even more impressive are the huge boulders that the trail wends through on the way up - take your camera because the photo ops on this hike are amazing. I just wish we lived a bit closer.

The second best bushwalk in SEQ. I love the "garden of eden" in the small valley once you reach the top of the gully. Fantastic views! I also have climbed up along the south ridge (bush-whacking up this route).

A bit of bushwhacking as you climb the steepest part about 100m short of the summit, but very nice 360 degree views from this small but open and grassy summit

We had been told this was a very nice walk, and we were quite pleased! Very interesting crossing across to top of Moogerah Dam. The trail was well marked, and there is a section with some very impressive grass trees.
Mount Beerburrum (Glass House Mountains National Park) |

We did this walk after some rain and fog in the air, which made the concrete trail surface wet and this is very steep. Very tricky on the way down, even with some fairly new hiking boots. Great 360 degree views from the summit, this is a terrific training walk. Do it a couple of times to double the work-out!

Up SE ridge and down Palm Gorge, no problems at all. It had been raining so it was quite wet and the foliage very thick so tough to keep on the trail a few times, but going down through the Palm Gorge was really a treat. |
