Thornleigh to Hornsby (GNW) (New South Wales) |

Did Thornleigh to Berowra as a day-walk: https://hikingtheworld.blog/2017/05/06/thornleigh-to-berowra-gnw/ Fishpond is nice but was very busy when I was there. You can still walk through the closed section behind the rifle range which is the way I went - it's disappointing they chose to re-route the walks via public roads. There's been no change in the rifle range, just a more conservative approach to risk management. |

Bairne Track to The Basin Circuit (Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park) |
25 Mar, 2017 |
Medium |
11km return 3.5 hrs |
|
Not a bad hike, but the walk up from the Basin is very dreary. Resolute Circuit is much nicer. Note: there are a couple of routes down from the Bairne Track. The easiest way is from Soldiers Point lookout, where there is a steep but fairly obvious track down to the water. https://hikingtheworld.blog/2017/03/25/bairne-to-basin-circuit-west-head/ |

Great excursion on a hot day... was a bit under-prepared and ended up doing more swimming than expected, Must bring a li-lo next time! | ||||
Cape Hauy (Tasman National Park) |

Cape Huay is almost impressive as Cape Pillar - and a lot easier to get to (from Fortescue Bay). I visited as part of a longer "Three Capes in One Day" walk. https://hikingtheworld.blog/2017/01/14/three-capes-in-a-day/ |

Three Capes (Tasman National Park) |

41km return 1 days |

A long but very scenic day trip - the tracks are generally VERY good and it's easy walking. Would have been a bit boring doing this over 4 days. https://hikingtheworld.blog/2017/01/14/three-capes-in-a-day/ |

Mt Dromedary (Gulaga) (New South Wales) |

Pleasant and shaded walk on an old 4WD track; the last section is steep as it goes through rainforest to the summit. No views from the top. ]https://hikingtheworld.blog/2017/01/05/mt-dromedary-gulaga/ |

Mt Warning Summit Trail (Wollumbin National Park) |
19 Apr, 2016 |
Hard |
8.3km return 5 hrs |

Did this walk twice; once starting very early to see the sunrise, and a couple of years later with my 8-year old son during the day. Nice views from the top, albeit nothing particularly amazing. The last scramble up the rocks using a chain is fun. https://hikingtheworld.blog/2016/04/19/mount-warning-wollumbin/ |

Spectacular walk. July-September best time. You can comfortably do this in three days. https://hikingtheworld.blog/2013/09/29/thorsborne-trail-hinchinbrook-island/ |
