Mt Beerwah East Face (Glass House Mountains National Park) |

Did this again and found both sets of caves this time. Our crucial mistake last time was climbing up the face to the point where you can see the summit and walking towards the right (towards where the tourist route is) instead of the left to a smaller set of caves. Much more pleasant but definitely a scramble to the top. Up in 2hrs (east face) down in 1hr (tourist route descent). We also noticed that someone has gone and removed a lot of the different coloured tapes and the 'sign' inaccurately pointing to the caves is no longer there. THANK YOU to whoever 'cleaned up' the routes. |

Descended via this route after ascending the East Face… sooo much faster in comparison. A lot of fun but it wasn't hard to tell why the walk was closed. If you run your fingers along the cliffs the rock just falls away.

Nice walk we did at sunset. If you're coming from Boonah there are heaps of lookouts on the drive to the falls that are worth stopping at.

Thought this was quite an easy walk especially for the payoff (1hr up, 40m down). Views were far better than expected! From the top we looked to a rocky outcrop possibly 50m away and saw this tiny rock wallaby perched there. No clue how it got to that height or how it was going to get down but it was nice to watch it watching us unafraid :) A lot of wildlife at the top. |

Great calf burner but definitely worth it for the views from the top. A bit difficult on the way down due to loose rocks.

Short pleasant walk however there is no view of the falls from the Wompoo Circuit. The lookout to the Falls is currently closed due to a landslide at the foundations of the structure. I could not find any other way to view the Falls :( The top is densely covered.

Fun walk we started at 4pm but I've never seen so many people on a trail! Very popular. I recommend walking clockwise to avoid a long zig-zag back up. There's a cave halfway up the waterfall to the left :)

20mins up, 1.5 hrs down/around/back-up and down again... I suggested a friend try and 'navigate' but I'm quite certain we walked through a wormhole which spat us out at the other side of the mountain. I then got the compass out and we then skirted around the base crossing a silly amount of fences before reaching a nice waist deep swamp which shredded and infected our legs (see the photos). Reaching our car was like tossing the ring into Mount Doom.

Toolona Creek and Mount Wanungra Lookout (Lamington National Park) |

This was a really picturesque walk. There was a complete white out at Toolona Lookout but we heard the call of bird that hasn't been sited in 3 years so that was exciting! (I have no idea what the bird was, I was walking with a wildlife biologist) There are a couple of large trees fallen over the path which were a little tricky to crawl over/under due to the dense vegetation but nothing 'difficult'. Highly recommend! Also, Toolona circuit by itself (plus elabana) took 5 hrs with frequent stops for selfies and bird watching. |

We completed this walk within 4hrs during torrential rain. It was still quite pleasant in the rain despite a couple of leeches here and there. Also each lookout was a complete whiteout which was slightly disappointing but we did take refuge in the cave for a while. We saw a lyrebird! Stoked! And 2 of the spiny blue crays :) Very lucky! |

Really pleasant walk which we turned into a trail run. The portals were lovely but freezing cold! We climbed up the waterfall and rock hopped for about an hour up the creek. Great fun, especially for those who aren’t so ‘hiking’ inclined. Heaps of young children and families there

We went up Palm gorge and down the ridge which seemed like a great way to do it as going down the ridge felt like floating compared to pushing up a palm frond covered mountain with 11kg packs. Plenty of Eastern Browns and a bright green python looking snake I couldn’t identify. The view was a bit disappointing due to the large trees and scrubs at the top. All in all was good for pack training but not a ‘fun’ mountain in my opinion. Keen to head back to check out Waterfall Gorge but Palm gorge was just unpleasant (30 mins added just from snake/spider evasion). *shudders*

Great walk with amazing views. Particularly windy at the top. Did this after the Cyclone Marcia few days of rain. Leeches galore! You couldn't stop walking as the ground was literally moving with them, eep! 80% DEET works wonders though :)

This was a good walk for pack training. We branched off just before the Channel 9 Station and returned to the car park via the Simpsons Falls track. Not much scenery but we spotted a few pale headed rosellas.

This is an AMAZING view towards Mt Fraser to Mt Barney. Access is via a long dirt road so I don't recommend attempting in the rain, a very stressful drive for my little Tiida.

Nice short walk. It was interesting to read all the information boards which contain history of the area and the surrounding mountains such as the gold mine on Mt Cordeaux (I had always wondered what that was). |
