A pleasant walk through bushland. The tracks are uneven so ensure you wear appropriate footwear. We returned via the riverbed which involved navigating rocks and boulders (no track). Currently the area is dry and the trees are feeling it.

Russell Falls is amazing & had a lot of water flowing over. About 200 stairs later, you get to Horseshoe Falls then a couple of kms later, Lady Barron Falls. You can hear the birdlife but are lucky to see them! We were fortunate to spot birdlife toward the end.

Made it to the Mt Wellington summit - started at Fern Tree and walked along the Fern Glade Track, Radford’s Track, Pinnacle Track then Zig-Zag Track to the summit and return. A total of 12.5km. There are so many walking Track options in Wellington Park. We climbed 188 flights of stairs. Amazing views from the top but the flora and fauna on the way up was even better! The fern trees at the start were incredible!

Did this walk with Lantana Break to make it a 11k walk. Glad I had my walking books and poles with me for the steep downward sections. Wouldn’t want to do them with sneakers... A peaceful walk with some birdlife along the way. Spotted two lace monitors. Would do it again for fitness.

We went to Blue Lake via Kabul track but diverted (turned right at the first junction) to a lookout on the way. This added 6 km to the overall walk (14 km in total). We returned to the carpark via Kabura Track. Blue Lake was lovely - clear water, still and peaceful. We didn’t experience much birdlife (Noisy Friarbirds, Kookaburras, Kites, Spotted Parladotes), saw many lizard and wallaby tracks (and saw a Lace Monitor). The track is sand so where appropriate shoes and take enough water. Since the track is sand...you will feel the heat.

Camped at Big Bend for one night - lovely and peaceful. My watch recorded the round trip at 21km without doing any side tracks. The water was clear and cool and looked fantastic. Many river crossings so wear your waterproof boots. I would call this walk moderate...obviously harder with a pack for overnight camping.

This was my first time t the reservoir so it was good to see what the space offers. The walk was easy with steps, tree roots and rocks/stones on the track. Birdlife: Superb Fairywren, Australian King Parrot, Scarlet Honeyeaters and White-naped Honeyeaters to name a few.

This was an easy walk through bushland. Tree roots and rocks are on the track so you do need to be mindful. Spotted two Wompoo Fruitdoves, Eastern-yellow Robins and some other birdlife (need to be quick!). Enjoyed this walk not only for the outlook but also due to less people and less people talking loudly.

Loved this walk - some magnificent trees, avid birdlife (but you may not see them) and a true nature sound. We added the Rainforest Circuit, Cypress Grove Track and the Westside Track to complete just over 10km. It would be better if people didn’t speak loudly - the sound of the forest is beautiful. |
